Report on the Revenue and other Accounts of the Colony of HONG KONG
examined by the Local Auditor for the year ended 31st December 1894.
1.
The Monthly Progress Returns sent home will
indicate the extent of examination and will show that
the Programme of Work approved for the year by the
Comptroller and Auditor General was practically carried
out in its entirety.
This Programme embraced the
examination in detail of nearly the whole of the
Revenue of the Colony with the exception of the Assessed
Taxes.
2. During the year under review good work has
been done in getting the Accounts of Squatters' Licenses
and Village House Rents into better order, and corrected
Rent Rolls as regards the latter are now in use;; steps
have also been taken, with the sanction of the Secretary
